Transcript:

PAVILION, SELSEY. Enlisted in the Royal Navy by mistake, British comedian George Formby with his ukelele, of course—provides the laughs when rounding up a gang of spies in "BELL-BOTTOM GEORGE," on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. From the strength and power of George Moore's flowing pen comes " ESTHER WATERS," a lusty, vigorous drama of the great days of the turf—bringing to life on the screen the fabulous Fred Archer—with Kathleen Ryan as Esther Waters and Dirk Bogarde in his first starring role as the reckless romantic "Lucky" Latch. To be shown on Thursday for three days, the story is that of a young girl who is torn between her deep religious upbringing, and the world of racing, which surrounds her when she falls in love with a keen follower of the turf.
