LOCAL HOME GUARDS' RECRUITING PROGRESS. Steady progress has been maintained in the recruiting drive by the 8th ("Hundred of Manhood") Battalion, Sussex Home Guard, who report 40 recruits in the last ten days from its headquarters at North Bersted. Companies are located at Bognor Regis and Selsey. First recruit for " B" Company at Sidlesham was the licensee of the Anchor Inn, ex-Colour Sgt. Maj. Stone, late of the Grenadier Guards. A Home Guard film was shown in the Selsey cinema programme last week, the proprietor, Mr. Hesse. being an enthusiastic volunteer In "C" Company.
