PAVILION, SELSEY. "THE RIVER," starring Nora Swinburne, Esmond Knight and Adrienne Corri, is a beautiful film about life in Bengal along the banks of the Ganges River. The story concerns an English family and their friends who live in the district. Complications occur when Captain John, a young man from America, arrives on the scene and three girls fall in love with him - he brings the girls their first love and the inevitable clash between reality and dreams. "MR. PEEK-A-BOO" is a fascinating comedy starring Joan Greenwood and the French comedian Bourvil. Fun begins when a humble French civil servant finds he has the power to walk through walls! He blithely passes through concrete, steel, bricks and other assorted solid substances and sometimes he walks into awkward and embarrassing situations. Starring in Edgar Wallace's thriller "THE RINGER" are Herbert Lom, Mai Zetterling, Donald Wolfit, Greta Gynt and William Hartnell. The Ringer is an elusive criminal sought by the police of many countries, but manages to escape them through his mastery of disguise. Maurice Meister, (Herbert Lom) an unscrupulous lawyer who had believed the Ringer to be dead, is suddenly informed that he is alive and will make an attempt to kill him. The tension mounts as it is realised that the Ringer is a person who is already a member of the circle in close contact with Meister, but nobody knows which one. The descent of a party of scientists to the centre of the earth is described in the American science-fiction film "UNKNOWN WORLD".
