PAVILION, SELSEY. Because she still has schoolgirlish romantic notions about a Lochinvar riding a white horse, Maria (Rita Hayworth), daughter of South American hotel magnate Edwardo Acuna (Adolphe Menjou), refuses to be married in order of age like her three sisters. It is not until she makes the acquaintance of brilliant New York dancer Robert Davis (Fred Astaire), penniless after losing at the races, that she becomes "interested in boys"—with what results may be seen in "YOU WERE NEVER LOVELIER," coming on Monday for three days. Misunderstanding of his good intentions again brings misfortune upon the head of George Formby, who completes the week's entertainment with laughter in "MUCH TOO SHY." While at a commercial art school, George draws three female heads—likenesses of woman living in his native village—and then trouble begins when the other pupils add nude bodies.
