Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1920-1929
SELSEY. Local artists very creditably performed a fine programme of tableaux vivants at the Pavilion on Wednesday and Thursday last week in aid of the Institute. The many beautiful character subjects were most skilfully arranged by Mrs Leith and Mrs Moore, and great credit is due to each of the numerous performers who took part. The vocal numbers given in the intervals between the tableaux were also much enjoyed. The programme which opened with two cleverly portrayed scenes from William Tell's life included effective representations of "Between Two Fires" (Haigh Wood) "The Lute Player", "Secrets", "Sign Of The Cross", "Dante's Dream", "Two Strings To Her Bow", "The Duel," " When did you last see your Father,” and many charming tableau dances. The orchestra, arranged by Mrs Forbes Glennie, contributed materially to the success of the performances, which were well attended on both days.
