SELSEY Commerce Dance. Selsey and District Chamber of Commerce held their dance on Tuesday in the Pavilion. There was a very good attendance, and dancing to the Rhythmics Band was greatly enjoyed. M.C. was Mr. L. Clough, and the bar was under the superintendence of the Selsey Hotel, Ltd. Rovers’ Dance . The New Year’s Eve Dance organised by the Selsey Rover Troop, in aid of the Selsey Boy Scout funds, was held on Friday at the Pavilion. The dance was organised by Capt. Hardy, Group Scoutmaster, and was attended by about 150 people. The hall was cheerily decorated and at midnight Billy Seaward’s band escorted Father 1937 —portrayed by Mr. Geoff Landers out and heralded the arrival of Miss 1938, who was represented by little Miss Fullick. Duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr. L. Clough, and spot prizes were won by Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Smtth and Mr. and Mrs. G. Knight. Mrs. Jamieson was the lucky winner of a Christmas cake. Refreshments were provided by the Selsey Troop of Rovers, with Mrs. Halsey and Mrs. Fullick in charge of catering.
