Film Preview – Chichester Observer – Saturday, 17 January 1948
Transcript:

PAVILION, SELSEY. James Cagney's new starring film for 20th Century-Fox. "13 RUE MADELEINE" which opens on Monday, is as thrilling as anything to reach the screen. Its story deals with that stranger-than-fiction truth which was the life of an Allied agent in occupied Europe before D-Day, and it is told in a factual, crisp manner which gives it an undeniable ring of authenticity. Cagney himself has done nothing better than his role in this film, which gives him just that tough sinewy part—the intelligent man of action—for which he is best suited. Annabella, Frank Latimore, Richard Conte and Walter Abel provide sterling support in the strong cast. "MRS. LORING'S SECRET" which opens on Thursday, stars Ray Milland and Teresa Wright in dramatic story of Victorian England.
