Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1940-1949
PAVILION, SELSEY. Peace and contentment have been found by Old John within the green boundaries of "THE ENCHANTED FOREST," to be screened on Monday for three days, and he has lived there so long that he finds it possible to communicate with the friendly animals. Old John and the forest creatures rescue a baby from a storm-swollen mountain stream and, under their tender care, the little one grows to sturdy childhood. The mother of the lost child comes to the forest because her heart tells her the boy is alive. It is Blackie, the Crow, who unravels the dramatic threads of the story and brings the picture to its happy conclusion.. In support is "JOE PALOOKA CHAMP," based on an American Comic strip character. For the remainder of the week is presented "GREEN FOR DANGER," set in a war-time emergency hospital near London at the time of the flying bomb raids. The accent is on murder and the first victim is a local postman who mysteriously dies on the operating table. Called in from Scotland Yard to investigate the crime is Inspector Cockrill, who does so with adequate results.
