British Legion Dinner – West Sussex Gazette – Thursday, 12 March 1936
Transcript:

At the British Legion dinner, in the Pavilion, on Friday, Mr. F. Owens, Chairman of the Selsey branch, presided. Admiral and Mrs. Palmer were present, and among other guests were representatives from Chichester and Mundham. About 180 sat down to a very good repast. Proposing "The British Legion" Mr. G. F. Hardy stressed the point that the primary object of the Legion still remained what it had always been, the care of the men who had served and suffered in the war. Admiral Palmer urged that more men should join the Legion. After a short concert, dancing was enjoyed by a great number.
