PAVILION, SELSEY. The setting for "TOWN ON TRIAL," starring John Mills, Charles Coburn and Barbara Bates is the small town of Oakleigh Park. On its surface it is the same as any other small town, seemingly calm and peaceful, very much self-contained within its own limits, the streets are clean and straight, the town is well kept, tidy, and yet . . . there is an air of foreboding about the town and its people. Look again at its citizens; at its shopkeepers; and its county-club society; and you will see a race of frightened people. People who live in the shadow of a dark secret; people hiding from the truth; people afraid of the coming night and the terror it holds; people who force Scotland Yard to place the whole town on trial before Its dreadful truth can be uncovered. An unusual story of the Western frontier, "REPRISAL" stars Guy Madison as a part-Indian who attempts to pass as a white on the Oklahoma frontier in the 1880's. Wanting only to run his small farm quietly, he tries to ignore the plight of the Indians around him, who are being destroyed by the whites under the leadership of three brutal brothers. A showdown is inevitable. A comedy drama exploiting some of the wilder aspects of America in the 1890's, "THE FIRST TRAVELLING SALESLADY" stars Ginger Rogers, Barry Nelson and Carol Chinning. Out of the shifting shadows of a vice-ridden city, "SLIGHTLY SCARLET" exposes a web of vice and corruption. John Payne, Arlene Dahl and Rhonda Fleming, are starred. Starring Victor Mature, Michael Wilding, and Anita Ekberg, "ZARAK" is a true-life drama about the man who became the most fabulous and powerful rebel of all time, and whose exploits are still discussed in North-West India.
