Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1950-1959
PAVILION, SELSEY. MAIN attraction at the Pavilion, Selsey, on Monday and Tuesday, next week, is "SOUTH OF ST LOUIS,” starring Joel McCrea and Dorothy Malone. Giving excellent support are Olivia de Havilland and Jane Wyman in "PRINCESS O'ROURKE". Starting on Thursday is the fine British production, "THEY WERE NOT DIVIDED,” a film every man who served in the forces should see. An exciting and deeply moving film, it tells of the sweep across Europe of the Guards Armoured division, and of two men, an Englishman and an American, working and fighting together in the momentous weeks that followed D Day. Romance and humour, as well as drama, play their part in the film but realism remains the keynote throughout from the battlefields of France to the wild jubilation of the Brussels liberation. There are no stars in the film; its male cast being made up of ex-Service men and serving soldiers.
