PAVILION, SELSEY. EALING Studios have given us some outstanding comedies lately, and perhaps the greatest, "THE LAVENDER HILL MOB." comes to the Pavilion, Selsey, for the first part of next week, starring Alec Guinness and Stanley Holloway. The film tells of Mr. Holland and his adventures as a big-time thief. You would not notice Mr Holland among the crowds swarming across London Bridge to the City every morning and back again at night. Just one of the crowd, respectable, bespectacled. bowler-hatted, and neatly dressed. A gold thief? The boss of a desperate mob? Certainly no one, particularly employees at his bank where he has the modest job of supervising deliveries of bullion from the gold refineries to the bank, ever suspects that big ideas lie behind his meekness. His dream is a simple one, just to steal one million pounds worth of bullion and live in luxury. For the remainder of the week, an American film, "THE FROGMEN," comes to the screen telling the dangers and fears of the men who fought under the seas. Richard Widmark, Dana Andrews, and Gary Merril star in this thrilling episode of the underwater demolition team who fight the Japs in and under the waters of the Pacific.
