PAVILION, SELSEY. "THE LAST FRONTIER" is a story of the American wilderness and stars Victor Mature. Guy Madison and Robert Preston. The film concerns the desperate American settlers who wrested a vast part of the American continent from the fiercest and mightiest of the Indian nations—the Sioux. The last great battles for the North-West are brought to the screen in terrifying splendour, and woven into the story are the efforts of an unbridled frontiersman. and an Army scout who opposes his ruthlessly ambitious Army commander. Coupled with the bitter struggle between red man and white. is the unusual triangle that develops when the wild frontiersman finds himself drawn towards the Colonel's wife, who, although at first repulsing his advances, at last succumbs and experiences a contentment which she does not find with her cold-hearted husband. "SOHO INCIDENT," starring Faith Domergue and Lee Patterson, is a tense gang drama which tells how a young Canadian, after being released from the army, seeks an easy job in Soho and becomes involved in a savage gang war. A beautiful female executive who is trying to amass a bank account, a bored advertising art director who feels his life is empty and a small boy who is starved of love and invents a father, these are the stars of "TOY TIGER," a domestic comedy-romance drama starring Jeff Chandler, Laraine Day and Tim Hovey. Jeff Chandler. playing his first comedy role, is the art director who gives up a highly paid job to settle down in the lazy little village to paint only as he feels. Little Tim Hovey plays Timmy Harkinson, the boy who invents a father, and Laraine Day is the boy's mother, who eventually finds happiness with Chandler. Zoltan Korda's outstanding production of "STORM OVER THE NILE" is filmed in Technicolor and Cinema Scope, and is an adaptation of A. E. Mason's exciting novel, "The Four Feathers." The film is set in 1900 when Harry Faversham joins the Army against his will because his father, General Faversham, insists that he follows the family tradition. When his father dies, his regiment is ordered to prepare to leave for the Sudan to support Kitchener's army. Harry resigns his commission because he feels he does not possess the qualifications for an officer on active service. Soon after his resignation, Harry receives three white feathers from his brother officers. and a fourth from his fiancee, Mary Burroughs, the daughter of a tough Crimean War veteran.
