PAVILION, SELSEY. "BELIEVE IN YOU" is a British drama starring Celia Johnson, Cecil Parker, Godfrey Tearle, Harry Fowler, Joan Collins, George Relph and Laurence Harvey. The story concerns Henry Phipps, a bachelor who has just retired from the Colonial Service. He finds he cannot settle down in his new-found leisure and decides to become a probation officer. Surrounded by the wicked, the under-privileged and mentally defective, he finds life strange. His unconventional way of solving the problems of those on probation eventually lands him in prison. The main attraction for the end of the week is "FAIR WIND TO JAVA." a seafaring adventure starring Fred MacMurray as the hard skipper of the schooner Gerrymander, and Vera Ralston as the half-caste slave girl, Kim Kim. Mutiny and fierce sea battles come into the plot which concerns MacMurray's trading operations as skipper of a new ship out of Boston. His adventures not only bring him into association with the beautiful Kim Kim but also put him on the trail of some lost diamonds. "PRIDE OF MARYLAND," starring Stanley Clements and Peggy Stewart, combines horse-racing thrills with a heart-warming love story.
