PAVILION, SELSEY. "THE LIVING DESERT" is Walt Disney's first full-length true-life adventure film. It won an Academy Award and has been acclaimed by critics and public alike as a great film for its novelty, its humour, its drama, and its beauty. A team of naturalist-photographers of abundant patience spent two years in the Great American Desert, and the result of their work is quite remarkable. There is comedy in the courtship of scorpions made ten times more hilarious by the "square dance" music background. and the antics of a squirrel dubbed "Skinny " who is a real picture-stealer. Action and drama are tense. among the high spots being a battle for supremacy between a red-tailed hawk and a rattle-snake: a terrific duel with the hereditary enemies, the tarantula and the pepsis wasp. - "STORMY" tells of a thoroughbred horse born out of season and is consequently unable to train for racing. He becomes instead a famous polo horse. "MONEY FROM HOME" is the first Technicolor production in which the American comedy team of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis take part. The film is based on a short story by Damon Runyon concerning some amusing race-track touts and their efforts to "fix" a race. Jose Ferrer and Kim Hunter star in "ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN" which follows the adventures of a carefree European who visits America to find love, laughs and excitements and finds more than he bargained for.
