The Technicolor production also includes Fredric March and Mickey Rooney. Filmed against actual backgrounds In the Pacific and Japan, this is the story of Lieut. Brubaker, an ace flyer, and Admiral Tarrant's relationship with the Navy jet pilots he sends into action. While detailing the raid against the bridges at Toko-Ri. the picture is essentially the deeply personal story of Tarrant (Fredric March), Brubaker (William Holden) the the pilot, Nancy (Grace Kelly) his wife, Mike Forney (Mickey Rooney) the helicopter rescue ace, and his friend Nestor Gamidge (Earl Holliman). In "LIVING IT UP." Jerry Lewis portrays a lowly railwayman whose one ambition in life is to go to New York. This he achieves by pretending to have a disease which leaves him only a few weeks to live. A New York newspaper pays all his expenses to the City and he immediately becomes a public hero. Then certain people learn of the hoax. Dean Martin is the poor fellow's doctor friend who is really responsible for the whole escapade, and Janet Leigh takes the part at an ambitious reporter.
