PAVILION, SELSEY. PACKED with entertainment talent, “DUCHESS OF IDAHO” comes to the Pavilion, Selsey, for the first part of next week. With Esther Williams cast as an aquatic star on the run for romance, Van Johnson as a crooning band leader who supplies the latter, John Lund and Paula Raymond involved In a secondary heart pursuit, and such additional headliners as Connie Haines, Lena Horne and dancing-star Eleanor Powell adding their distinctive specialities “Duchess of Idaho” gives you an infectious story of love and laughs set against a background of Sun Valley. In support is “THE VIOLET HOUR,” starring Marshall Thompson and Virginia Field. For the rest of the week, “NORTH WEST MOUNTED POLICE," with Gary Cooper and Madeleine Carroll, tells a thrilling story in Technicolor set in the heart of the Canadian backwoods, unless the half-breeds have an answer to their demands the Government within 24 hours, they threaten to rise in revolt with the Indians supporting them.
