Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1940-1949
PAVILION, SELSEY. Packed with many mirth-provoking incidents, sufficient to bring forth laughter from the dumb, is "THE EGG AND I"—coming on Monday for three days—adapted from Betty MacDonald's beloved best-seller, with Claudette Colbert and Fred MacMurray in the starring roles of Betty and Bob. Some 25 million persons are reputed to have read this hilarious account of a honeymooning couple's struggle to make a living on a mountain-wilderness chicken ranch. In order to regain their foster son, abducted from their jungle home by some circus men, Tarzan and Jane don garments of civilisation and go to New York. There they figure in battles and rescues, thrills and escapes, before gaining the child and returning to their home in the wilds. In "TARZAN'S NEW YORK ADVENTURE", re-presented on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Johnny Weissmuller, Maureen O'Sullivan and John Sheffield again take the leading roles.
