Carnival Plans. Plans are fast proceeding for Selsey Carnival on August I2th. The Committee, which met again last week, is as follows; Mr. F. W. Owens (Chairman), Mr. C. E. Vince (Hon. Secretary), Miss P. Johnson (Hon. Treasurer), and Lieut.-Col, Moore, Messrs, Harman, Withers, J. A. Fletcher, A. Yoke and R. H. Smith, whilst the following are co-opted members; Messrs R. Gibbons, R. T. Stratton, Mitchell Cripps, L. Clough and A. Savers. A number of prizes have already been promised, but many more—also donations —are still needed. The Carnival Queen and maids honour will be chosen in the Pavilion by, it is hoped, a prominent film star. Only ladies resident in Selsey will be eligible for these honourable positions, and those wishing to compete may give their names to the Hon. Secretary an early date. A band is to be engaged for the procession, and carnival dance is to be held in the evening. Classes in the carnival will include fancy dress, mounted and foot tableaux, decorated private cars, cycles, prams, etc.
