Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1940-1949
PAVILION, SELSEY. Comic efforts by a feminine apparition—in the person of comedienne Constance Bennett—to "do a good deed" for someone on this earth, create a matrimonial disaster for poor Mr. Cosmo Topper (Roland Young), the object of her affections in "TOPPER TAKES A TRIP," on Monday and Tuesday. "THE KISS OF DEATH," showing on Wednesday for two days, tells the story of a convict (Victor Mature) who turns informer and has to face the inevitable showdown at the hands of gangster Richard Widmark. For the remainder of the week, patrons may see "ALWAYS ANOTHER DAWN," a naval saga, made with the co-operation of the Royal Australian Navy, starring Charles Tingwell and Guy Doleman.
