Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1940-1949
SELSEY PAVILION. Belita, who made her screen debut in Pathe Monograms Silver Skates comes to the Pavilion on Monday in the third and latest film “SUSPENSE." This is Monogram's first million dollar production and, though it reveals Belita in three daring skating spectacles, the picture is described as a gripping psychological mystery drama. Philip Jordan who wrote the original screenplay of "Dillinger" is also responsible for this screenplay. Brilliant acting, sparkling humour and a delightful romantic story are the ingredients that help to make R.K.O. Radio's "HEARTBEAT," commencing on Thursday, such entertaining film fare. The gay theme of the film is much in keeping with the lively spirit of Ginger Rogers, and the star has been ideally cast in her role of fugitive from a reformatory who, in desperation is forced to enrol with a school for pickpockets in order to obtain her livelihood.
