Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1940-1949
PAVILION, SELSEY. Film fare on Monday for three days comes in the form of the latest Cinecolor production, "THE RED STALLION." Its theme is the simple and poignant story of a youngster's efforts to save his grandmother's ranch from financial failure by training his thoroughbred stallion to become a racehorse. Ted Donaldson is the young star. Brilliant actress Sonia Dresdel re-enacts the role that made her famous on the West End stage in the screen adaptation of "THIS WAS A WOMAN," which completes the week's entertainment. Joan Morgan's play tells the story of a selfish, ambitious, possessive woman whose wicked scheming nearly ruins her daughter's marriage, and results in the death of her charming husband. It is her strong-willed son who uncovers the truth and finally exposes her.
