Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1940-1949
PAVILION, SELSEY. Highlighted by a superb performance from Joan Fontaine in the title role, "IVY "—a girl who cares little for anything but money—is to be screened on Monday for three days. Perceiving an opportunity to fulfil her wish through marriage to a multi-millionaire (Herbert Marshall), she poisons her husband (Richard Ney) and succeeds in throwing the blame upon the man who professes his love for her (Patric Knowles), hoping to dispose of both with her single act. John Mills, as a young chemical engineer wrongfully accused of murdering a fellow hotel pest and liable to suicidal tendencies, co-stars with Joan Greenwood, the girl who helps him overcome his many difficulties, in "THE OCTOBER MAN," a story of suburban London, which will be shown for the remainder of the week.
