PAVILION, SELSE.Y As Anthony John, an actor whose nature is such that he must "live" every part in order to play it well, Ronald Colman has the role of his career in "A DOUBLE LIFE"—one which earned him an Academy Award. Coming on Monday for three days, this tragedy of character finds Anthony and his actress wife (Signe Hasso)—estranged though still in love—cast together in "Othello." They accept their roles with misgiving, fearing the possible effect on his character of this tragedy of jealousy and murder. Their fears are soon justified. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a glamourous mermaid in your house ? Possibilities are suggested in "MIRANDA "—showing for the remainder of the week. A sparkling comedy almost bordering on farce, it tells of the adventures in London of a mermaid (Glynis Johns), who prevails on a Harley Street doctor (Griffith Jones) to show her the sights. Needless to say, the doctor's household and friends are not very enthusiastic over the visit.
