Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1950-1959
PAVILION, SELSEY. MAGNIFICENT ice skating by Belita makes "THE HUNTED," in which Preston Foster takes the other leading part, more entertaining than most mystery dramas. In the story Laura Mead (Belita) is out on parole after being imprisoned on a jewel-theft charge of which she claims to be innocent. The story is given an unusual touch as the policeman responsible for her arrest was Saxon (Preston Foster) who is in love with her. He gets her a job as leading lady in an ice-show, at which she is a success, until her attorney is murdered. Circumstances point to Laura and Saxon is detailed to arrest her. When he does she shoots him and in hospital he decides to resign from the force and try to help her. Feature film for the second part of the week is "PRIVATE ANGELO," in which Godfrey Tearle, Maria Denis, and Peter Ustinov are starred. The story was adapted for the screen from a book by Eric Linklater and Marjorie Rhodes. James Robertson and Moyna McGill are included the supporting cast. It is affectionately dedicated to all conscripted soldiers.
