Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1950-1959
PAVILION, SELSEY. "HOME AT SEVEN" (Sunday and Monday) will have special interest for Selsey people because the film was adapted from the play by R. C. Sherriff, who was a resident of the village for many years. The drama begins when a bank clerk returns and learns from his wife that he has been missing for 24 hours and is suffering from loss of memory. During those hours, a murder was committed and the clerk becomes convinced that he did it. The strong cast is headed by Jack Hawkins, Ralph Richardson and Margaret Leighton. "DIPLOMATIC COURIER" has a topical flavour at the present time because some of the action is in Trieste. Tyrone Power and Patricia Neal star in this film based on a novel by Peter Cheney. The plot concerns the hazardous adventures of an American diplomatic courier when he attempts to take over some important documents from a colleague. "I'LL SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS" (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) is a lively musical starring Doris Day and Danny Thomas. The biography of the lyric writer Gus Kahn provides the story. At next Saturday's meeting of the Roy Rogers' Riders' Club there will be a competition for the best dressed cowboy and cowgirl with novel prizes for the winners.
