PAVILION, SELSEY. "THE TITFIELD THUNDERBOLT" is a British comedy in Technicolor starring Stanley Holloway, George Relph, Naunton Wayne and John Gregson. Titfield is an old and lovely English village near the market town of Mallingford. The only public transport linking the two is a single track railway, which is Titfield's pride. The story opens with the closing of the railway. All the inhabitants protest loudly except Messrs. Crump and Pearce who own the Titfield Road Transport Co. They have just bought a smart, new bus. Led by the Vicar, an ardent railway enthusiast, the villagers decide to buy the railway and run it themselves; the Road Transport Co. do all they can to sabotage their efforts. The film is showing for the first part of the week. Main attraction for the second part of the week is "THE I DON'T CARE GIRL." an American Technicolor musical, starring Mitzi Gaynor, David Wayne and Oscar Levant. The film is a biography of the irresponsible variety entertainer Eva Tanguay, who reached fame in the second decade of the century. Three men in her life tell what they know about her. They all differ about her personality, though not one fails to be impressed by her vitality and ability as a singer and dancer.
