W.I. Christmas Party – Chichester Observer – Wednesday, 20 December 1922
Transcript:

SELSEY. W.l.’s Christmas Party. The annual Christmas party in connection with the Women's Institute, to which each member is entitled to invite a non-member, was held last Wednesday night at the Pavilion, and proved a most enjoyable affair. There were close on 350 guests, and after they had been received by Mrs. Deeble (President) and Mrs. T. Gardner (Hon. Secretary), proceedings commenced at 6.45 p.m. with a performance of the laughable sketch, ‘‘My turn next.” This was cleverly presented by the following: Mrs. E. G. Johnson, Miss H. Johnson, Mrs. Potts, Miss Bartlett and Messrs. J. Fisher, L. Maidment and B. Marshall. Refreshments were then served, and subsequently dancing to the music jazz band, and games, etc., were indulged until soon after mid-night when the party broke up.
