PAVILION, SELSEY. THE spirit of adventure and the immense courage of a band of men have resulted in the production of "THE CONQUEST OF EVEREST," a colour record photographed on the spot by famous cameraman, Tom Stobart. It is difficult to remain unexcited as the British mountaineers push fearlessly ahead to their ultimate glory, turning a blind eye to the knowledge that one false step might result in a fatal accident. This account of the assault on 29,000 ft. Mount Everest by men prepared to face any danger to make the eighth attempt on the mountain a success, was given a Royal premiere in London. The main attraction for the second part of the week is "THE GAMBLER AND THE LADY," a British drama starring Dane Clark and Kathleen Byron. Dane Clark portrays Jim Forster. an inveterate gambler who comes to England hungry and penniless. By living on his wits and gambling, he fights his way to the top and becomes.. the owner of a night club. His greatest mistake is in trying to crash into society. It leads to his downfall. In support is "THE LADY CRAVED EXCITEMENT." an amusing British comedy drama with Hy Hazel! and Michael Medwin. The story concerns Pat and Johnny, two cabaret artists who, after a series of amusing adventures, uncover a plot to remove several valuable works of art from the country.
