PAVILION, SELSEY. "THE ETERNAL SEA," with Sterling Hayden, Alexis Smith and Dean Jagger in the starring roles, is the story of a courageous man who proved that the human spirit can triumph over overwhelming odds. It is also the story of woman whose boundless love inspired her husband to heroic success. This is a true drama based on the life of Rear-Admiral John Madison Hoskins, who lost a leg and his ship, the Princeton, during the battle of Leyte in 1944. In spite of his injury he convinced his superiors that his artificial leg was a negligible handicap in the physical execution of an admiral's duties, and in 1946 be was given command of the new Princeton. "THE BEACHCOMBER" is a British production of a famous tale by Somerset Maughan, starring Robert Newton, Glynis Johns, and Donald Sinden. The CinemaScope production. "ROUGH COMPANY." is a tough adventure filmed In Technicolor, starring Glenn Ford, Barbara Stanwyck and Edward G. Robinson. Set in the post-Civil War period when small ranch owners faced the greed and terror of the land barons, those semi-feudal settlers out to build cattle empires, without regard to cost in human life and suffering. " Rough Company" is a breathless, thrilling tale of high adventure. Combined with its swift action, however, is a moving record of emotional conflict between the men and women who fight beside and against each other for the land. In "THE BAMBOO PRISON." a U.S. Army sergeant gets special privileges as a prisoner of war for collaborating with his captors. He earns the enmity of the other prisoners in the camp who do not know his true motives. Robert Francis, Dianne Foster and Brian Keith are starred.
