Theatre Licence – Bognor Regis Observer – Wednesday, 17 March 1920
Transcript:

WEST CHICHESTER COUNTY BENCH. The Magistrates present at the Chichester County Bench on Saturday were Mr. W. H. B. Fletcher (in the chair), Colonel H. D. Fryer, Major Leith, and the Mayor of Chichester (Alderman G. M. Turnbull). Christopher Caspar Walter Chrippes applied for a theatrical license for the Pavilion, Selsey, formerly known as the Hippodrome. Mr. E. B. Wannop, appearing for Mr. Harry Joseph, opposed, on the ground that a license for the building was already in existence, and this did not expire under November. The applicant stated that he had taken over the lease, and he and his partner intended to purchase the building. They had already made some alterations, and the building was at present being redecorated. The application was adjourned for a fortnight, in order to enable applicant to produce further evidence.
