Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1950-1959
PAVILION, SELSEY. ONE of the screen’s "tough-as-they-come’’ characters, Robert Mitchum, turns with great success to comedy and romance in the film “HOLIDAY AFFAIR,” showing at the Pavilion, Selsey, for the first three days of next week. Co-starring are Wendell Corey and the girl both men are after, Janet Leigh. Set in New York, the story tells of a war widow with a small boy who is ready to marry a conventional and prosperous attorney when Mitchum, casual salesman, comes into her life with a bang. The thrilling and exciting drama, “UNION STATION,” starring William Holden, Nancy Olsen and Barry Fitzgerald, completes the week’s entertainment. The story tells how Lorna Murcall, 18-year-old daughter of a wealthy industrialist, is kidnapped and a rendezvous is arranged for the purpose of collecting ransom at Union Station. Railway and city police collaborate to catch the kidnapper before he can escape with the ransom and kill the girl. The chase leads through a maze of subterranean tunnels and climaxes in an exciting gun duel beneath the depot.
