Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1940-1949
PAVILION, SELSEY. Embittered by the fact that his work is well received by the critics but not by the book-buying public, Jeffrey Andrews (Chester Morris), a cynical novelist, takes to drink. While under the influence of liquor, he tells his publisher the plot of a " who-dun-it"- with a perfect crime. When the publisher is murdered in exactly the manner he described, the author's memory is blacked out and he is suspected of murder. How he manages to clear himself of suspicion makes fascinating entertainment in "BLIND SPOT," presented on Monday for three days. Adapted from the successful stage play of the same name. "FRIEDA." to be screened on Thursday. Friday and Saturday, traces dramatically the trials and tribulations of a British airman (David Farrar) who brings his German wife (Mai Zetterling)—the girl who made possible his escape from a P.O.W. camp—to live with his family in a small English town.
