Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1920-1929
Minstrels Entertainment. It was a happy diversion to the ordinary run of concerts when, on Thursday evening, the Selsey Troupe of Minstrels gave one of their rare, but enjoyable entertainments. The proof that minstrels have not lost their popularity was shown by the large and appreciative audience which put in an appearance at the Pavilion, the seating accommodation being taxed to its utmost. A quartet, “Song and Dance,” by VV. G. Moore, H. Dawes, A. Fidler, and L. Edwards was much enjoyed, while the dancing turn (by special request) by Miss Treadlight and C. E. Smith was given very pleasingly. Besides items by the Troupe, the programme contained the following: Songs by C. Foster, L. Maidment. W. G. Moore, G. Edwards, C. £. Smith and G. Cox; string trio, A. Barrow, C. Smith and R. Smith; musical monologue, E. A. Swindells; glee. W. G. Moore. C. Fidler, H. Dawes, C. Vince, A. Fidler. C. Pratt. L. Edwards and F. Harris; trio, C. Vince. L. Maidment and G. Edwards; and a musical medley by the band.
