PAVILION, SELSEY. A MODERN comedy, "ROMAN HOLIDAY" concerns a beautiful Princess (Miss Hepburn) of a mythical country who makes a goodwill tour of Europe. When she reaches Rome, she is so sick of schedules and public appearances that she suffers a mild attack of hysterics. A doctor gives her an injection that will make her sleep and advises her nation's Embassy to cancel all her engagements for the next day including a Press conference. Not yet affected by the drug, the Princess, however decides to have a little fun all by herself and slips cut, unseen, from the Embassy. An American newspaper correspondent (Peck) accidentally runs Into the Princess now in a daze and lets her sleep it off in his modest apartment. It is not until the next day that he discovers the identity of his overnight guest. Realizing he can get big money for an exclusive story on the Princess, he decides to capitalize on his incredible good luck by keeping her whereabouts a secret. The main attraction for the second half of the week is "TROUBLE IN STORE" in which Norman Wisdom appears with Margaret Rutherford, Jerry Desmond and Lana Morris. Norman's aim in life is to become a window dresser for the store, but between hirings, sackings and re-hiring he is more often outside the window looking in than on the inside dressing up. Whenever he sets out to help, somehow or other fates combine to make him a hindrance. His well-meant but unfortunate escapades leave an indelible imprint on everyone and everything he meets. He chases buses through London on roller skates, bursts into a shop-girls' hostel at exactly the wrong moment, and "borrows" a road drill to get back into the store when all doors are locked against him ! Even for Norman things can't go wrong all the time. His good Intentions overcome the string of frantic mishaps and he finishes by saving the store from a gangsters' hold-up. He gets his girl too.
