Transcript:

PAVILION, SELSEY. ALL the music and splendour of a musical are combined with the graceful rhythm of expert ice-skating in the "COUNTESS OF MONTE CHRISTO," which comes to the Pavilion, Selsey, for the first part of next week. Sonja Henie is starred with Michael Kirby, Olga San Juan, Dorothy Hart, and Arthur Treacher in a film that will bring all the thrills of an ice revue to audiences who, perhaps, would otherwise never have seen one. The story of the film doesn't really matter as the wonderful skating of Sonja Henie and Michael Kirby, who have somehow bettered their performance in "Ice Review,” prevents attention being focussed on anything else. Margaret Lockwood, Stewart Granger and Patricia Roc are co-starred in "LOVE STORY,” which heads the supporting programme. Providing a complete change, both in narrative and scenery, from "The Countess Monte Cristo." THE FIGHTING O'FLYNN " stars Douglas Fairbanks Jun. and is the main feature for the second part of the week The story is of a plan to allow Napoleon to land in Ireland and the way is foiled. Helena Carter, Richard Greene, and Patricia Medina are prominent in the supporting cast. The famous strip-cartoon star Jane is featured in her first full length feature film. "THE ADVENTURES OF JANE" which is included in the supporting programme. Appearing frequently during the story, which is about a smuggled diamond, are Fritz, Jane's pet dachshund, Stanelli, Michael Hogarth and Wally Patch.
