Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1940-1949
PAVILION, SELSEY. Playing a light-hearted British tourist in her first musical romance—"ONE NIGHT WITH YOU," showing on Monday for three days—Patricia Roc is partnered by Nino Martini, famous international operatic tenor, who proffers some wry humour in his role of a stranded film star. Their adventures begin when they are both stranded on a lonely Italian railway station, with neither money nor baggage, and finish up in jail. All who remember the famous Alpine Dakota crash in 1946, when International rescue teams struggled for days to reach the occupants of a crashed aircraft, will want to see "BROKEN JOURNEY"—to be presented for the remainder of the week. The picture tells of a widely differing group of individuals stranded on an Alpine glacier in a wrecked 'plane with little hope of relief. Phyllis Calvert heads a strong cast of favourites.
