PAVILION, SELSEY.THE hazardous escape trail of two British soldiers who escape from an Italian P.O.W. Camp in 1943 forms the exciting background of "SEVEN THUNDERS," starring Stephen Boyd, James Robertson Justice, Kathleen Harrison and Tony Wright. They are smuggled into Nazi-occupied Marseilles by the French Resistance but the Germans get wind of their presence and a series of outrages is perpetrated on the inhabitants. Furious at their inability to capture the fugitives, the Nazis plan to destroy the whole area of the town where they are secreted. As house after house is shattered by dynamite, the pair make their last desperate dash for freedom. A romance between one of the soldiers, who has a girl back in England, and a beautiful French waif, who falls completely in love with him, adds a poignant quality to a story of despair and sudden death. "THE RAINS OF RANCHIPUR" tells of the romantic escapades of a beautiful American wife in India, and how she endangers the happiness of a wide circle of people through her selfish activities. Starred in the film are Lana Turner, Richard Burton, Fred MacMurray, Joan Caulfield and Michael Rennie. "NO TIME FOR TEARS" is reviewed under Orion, Midhurst.
