The Selsey Pavilion Trust (SPT) is proud to announce the appointment of experienced theatre and cinema architects Foster Wilson Size following the award of a Project Development Grant from the Architects Heritage Fund last month.

Foster Wilson Size has an impressive track record spanning five decades for creating and refurbishing live performance spaces, including the Mayflower Theatre, Hoxton Hall and Brixton House.

Their recent work at the Polka Children’s Theatre in Wimbledon demonstrates how imaginative public use of a community arts building can lead to the local area’s social and economic regeneration.

SPT chairman Christian Skelton said:

“Foster Wilson Size are one of the country’s leading live performance and cinema architects. Having them onboard at this early stage with their knowledge and experience is tremendous, and a testament to the potential of the long-term benefits the Pavilion can bring to Selsey and the wider Manhood Peninsula. We can’t wait to start working with them!”

Jonathan Size of Foster Wilson Size added:

“We are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to work with the Selsey Pavilion Trust on the Pavilion. Given its long history and prominent position on the High Street, it has an amazing potential to become a new cultural arts destination and a catalyst for positive change and further cultural development in the local area.
We share a love for the arts, music, theatre and related venue design and look forward to the process of bringing the Pavilion back to life.”

The next step for the Trust is to apply to the Government’s Community Ownership Fund in mid-December which will support up to 50% of the Pavilion’s purchase costs if successful.
