Earlier this year, the Selsey Pavilion Trust was approached by the Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) to give a series of video interviews for a new community support website called MyCommunity. The website aims to help community groups like ours take ownership of beloved community buildings that can make a real difference to their towns.

As we know firsthand, it can be very difficult to make a real difference without ownership of a building, even if the building in question is falling to bits! Trying to raise the capital to purchase the building is even more challenging. The MyCommunity website aims to bridge this support gap.

We were fortunate to have early support and guidance from the AHF, who exist exclusively to help communities find enterprising ways to revitalise the old buildings they love. Without their help, our project would have undoubtedly stalled. We owe them a great deal.

So, it goes without saying that we jumped at the chance to support them as an official Community Ownership Fund support partner. After several video interviews discussing the Selsey Pavilion project and our intended outcomes, the following case study was published on the MyCommunity website:

Re-taking centre stage! Reviving Selsey Pavilion.

We are incredibly proud that our story could inspire others to take action and make a difference in their towns.
